#39. Escaped Scapes
July 30th, 2014: Oil on Board, 6" x 6". I thought I cut all the scapes off my garlic already, but today I found a few stragglers that escaped my pruning. I mixed them with a couple onion flowers for some textural variety and put them in one of my favorite new vases from the thrift store. It's a pretty simple little painting but I've spent the last two days trying to work on a larger piece and after sketching it out, being dissatisfied and wiping it out five or so times, it was nice to accomplish something with my time today.
