April 28th, 2014: Oil on Board, 6" x 6". This is another one of those subjects that might only be recognized by some. The fact is, I tried to paint this little chunk of beeswax today, twice, and in the end I wiped them both off and settled for painting a rock. Beeswax is apparently really hard to paint, at least for me. At least I had a special rock to paint, some Manassa Turquoise I found myself, in its natural state, as a vein in some host rock. I like the thick paint I ended up with. Maybe I'll get back to the beeswax some day!
